What made you think more deeply today? | MUNIPALLI AKSHAY PAUL |
As the train left Dadar station, this uncle entered the ladies compartment. His eyes were filled with tears and looked completely distressed. Usually women start shouting at any man if a man enters the ladies compartment, but he did not do that...
All the women were looking at each other. That uncle was just looking out of the train window and crying. He was not trying to hide his tears at all.
One of the women asked, "What happened?"
He replied, “I admitted my wife to KEM and reported my daughter-in-law to Tata. She is in pain. Thinking about this, I am not feeling well since morning. But being the breadwinner of the family, I cannot tell this to anyone. I wanted to cry my heart out. So, I deliberately boarded the ladies compartment.”
The women gave him water. Someone gave him chocolates. He brought himself to the women and said, "Men don't cry in our society. In fact, we shouldn't cry. OK? But, we have feelings too. I am really upset to see two women of my family in such pain. Those women have always stood firmly behind me in everything."
“I had no idea that if I enter this ladies compartment all the ladies will shout at me. Instead of shouting you all are consoling me. I really appreciate it. Thank you”
He got off the train at Byculla station.
Uncle unknowingly gave us a lesson. When we raise our child (boy), we should teach him to express himself openly. We should teach him that it is okay to cry if he feels like it. He should know that boys cry too.
