Those who have lost a part of their body, how did it happen? What did it feel like? | Munipalli Akshay Paul |

Image
Often, we tend to lose our body parts in an accident, some kind of disease, or by birth. And, I lost both of my upper limbs in a train accident at the age of 19. Honestly, I really couldn’t recollect how this mishap occurred to me. But, I do remember one thing I was falling deep under the railway track of the running train. Speaking of feelings, It’s been eight years, I couldn’t be healed from the trauma. Initially, after my post-accident, I wasn’t familiar with the terms: “anxiety attack,” “depression,” “anger issues,” “restlessness,” “lethargy,” “loss of appetite,” “sleepless nights,” and “howling.” But, I was living the symptoms of every single term of mental health issues. Till now, I couldn’t stand in front of the mirror for a long time, the absence of the major parts made me incomplete, powerless, and underconfident. I have to go to my psychiatrist every two months and take medicines every day.

What reflects the failures of the Indian government? | Munipalli Akshay Paul |

Mr Amar Kumar Rao was working at the station under the Sonpur Railway Division. He was performing his duties on platform 5 of Barauni Junction, as the Lucknow-Barauni Express (No: 15204) arrived from Lucknow Junction. when he was attempting to open the coupling of the train. The train unexpectedly reversed, trapping him between the carriages. He was crushed by the moving engine and died on the spot. Technology has advanced so much in india, reached at Mars and planning for space station shortly. Still Indian railway workers are doing this risky works by involving man power. It is the himan errors but it reflects the failure of Indian government. Because Indian government failed to introduce technology here. Indian government should provide technology for risky works. How does the Indian Railways help women while they are traveling in a train? | Munipalli Akshay Paul |

Image
A year ago I was travelling from Kolkata to Bangalore for a summer internship. A week prior to my travel the unfortunate Balasore rail accident had occurred and the service was temporarily disrupted as the trains of that route were cancelled. This resulted in trains being overcrowded for the next few days. I had a reservation in the sleeper class and the journey spanned for two nights and a day. Sixteen hours into the journey, I had a verbal argument with an unreserved passenger who wanted me to lift my middle berth to accomodate him. I refused saying that it's not the sleeping hours and it'll be uncomfortable for people to sit in the lower berth. A few hours later I had to get down at Vijayawada station to use the toilet of another compartment because unreserved passengers in my compartment had blocked the way and they were not allowing others to use the toilets. At night when the train crossed Thirupati and most passengers were asleep, I saw two men lighting cigarettes. Now I...

One day, shortly before the work was over, she entered the meat storage room, which is a cold storage. Suddenly the door was locked from outside. She tried hard but could not open the door. There was no use shouting a lot because by then all the other workers had finished their work and left. Slowly she started freezing in the cold. Death is imminent. She is crying but there is no chance of her survival. Suddenly quite unexpectedly a security guard came and opened the door and freed her. Then the girl asked him, You should not have come here. Why did you come here? The guard replied I have been working here as a security guard for almost 35 years. But I have seen very few people who come every morning and say good morning to me and go away in the evening saying good evening. Most of the people behaved as if they did not see me. But you were the only person who wanted to see me with a sweet smile every day. I did it this morning too. But in the evening I did not hear the words 'Good...

I was scrolling through Facebook today and saw these pictures. I wish my school had this too! This is what learning while playing means. Schools seriously need some creativity like this! Such amazing ideas! Vertical, horizontal, rows, and columns are things that confuse every person once in a while. Incredible! What an interesting way to understand science! I would suggest you do it in your home as well! W.E.L.C.O.M.E. now has a new meaning. I bet children will always be willing to attend school every day, once such ideas are incorporated. Nobody thought snakes and ladders could be so helpful in maths! I was spellbound on seeing this and could only say,
